“We did not set out to make any money from producing wine from our vineyard, but we have created a truly distinctive wine that is respected by all who taste.”

Proprietors Chris and Betsy Peacock established their home around this vineyard in 1991. They bring an unusual mix of expertise---theology, philanthropy, traveling, the fine arts---to the project of creating a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from their spectacularly beautiful vineyard on Spring Mountain in the Napa Valley. “I’ve done a lot of different things in my life,” he says, “and I’ve always been driven by my love of nature and the outdoors. “One theme of my life has been finding places in this world which are remote, wild, and serene. . . . "I wanted to ‘go back to the land’
and felt I could combine that longing with the world of fine wine, another passion of mine.”

The daughter of Chris and Betsy Peacock, Rebecca Peacock has always been passionate about wine, food and fashion. Before joining the Peacock Family Vineyard team in late 2013, Rebecca owned and operated a thriving women's clothing store specializing in French fashion for 15 years in Burlingame, Calif. Rebecca's semi-annual buying trips for the store took her to Paris, her passion for great wine and food blossomed, and New York City. With the fashion world behind her, she will direct her considerable talents and complete attention to the Peacock Family Vineyard wine as a proprietor of the winery. As a second-generation Peacock, she will help guide the winery into the future.

Craig Becker

Winemaker Craig Becker began his career at Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville in 1996, learning the fine art of natural winemaking. 1997 he left Mondavi and joined Spring Mountain Vineyard as assistant winemaker. Shortly after joining Spring Mountain Vineyard, Craig was appointed winemaker at age 23. In 2003, 7 years later, he left to become a full-time consulting winemaker. Craig joined Peacock at the beginning, in 1999, and today he is both winemaker and general manager at Peacock: “My goal as a winemaker is to produce exceptional varietal wines which reflect the uniqueness of the vineyard and the microclimate,” he explains. His other projects include Somerston Estate and Kelleher Family Vineyards in Oakville.

"The best wines in the world have a sense of place, that is why the are considered great.  Its an honor to farm this 6 acre hillside vineyard, and bring the vineyard to you in the bottle.”
